Author

Jeremiah Gardner.

Author & organizational advisor

Jeremiah Gardner is the creator of Diagnostic Leadership, co-founder of DeadReckon, and author of The Lean Brand. His work with executives, founders, and teams informs The Read’s practice of seeing what is happening before deciding what to do next.

His work asks how leaders and teams learn to read a situation before responding to it. He examines the assumptions that shape what people notice, the patterns that keep teams stuck, and the judgment required when experience alone does not provide an answer.

He co-founded DeadReckon, where Diagnostic Leadership is applied through work with executives, founders, and teams. Halocline Press publishes The Read as an imprint of Gardner Expedition Co.

The work

The books develop a shared inquiry: how people perceive, decide, and act when the situation is uncertain. They examine the organizational conditions that shape what people can see and the practices that help them question an initial interpretation.

The questions are practical: What do I see? What is driving it? What does the moment need? The Read develops these questions into a practice readers can bring into their own work.
